Hi all, I’ve been trying to use dependent origination without turning it into a diagram on the cushion. In a short sit, I ask one thin question: what is feeding this restlessness? If the answer is a busy mind, I don’t argue with it; I soften, notice the body, and let the breath be the next condition. It keeps me from becoming a tiny lecturer to myself.
What I’m curious about is where the teaching becomes practical without becoming a checklist. Some friends use it as a map for suffering; I use it as a body cue, one condition at a time. I like that it can be gentle, but I also wonder if it can stay warm when I’m tired or a bit impatient.
Would love to hear how others bring this into a short sit: as a question, a phrase, a bow, a memory, or just a soft letting-go? And if you think it works better as a longer study than a cushion cue, I’m genuinely open to that too.
