When we read dependent origination, do we treat it as a map of how things arise and cease, or as a verdict about who we are? In SN 12.2, conditions are presented as workable: craving, feeling, contact, and so on, are not fixed labels. They are places where attention can meet what is happening.
I find it useful to ask: what am I testing right now? Not to prove a point, but to notice whether the teaching is becoming a certificate. If a condition is present, can I meet it with care? If it is not, can I let the map rest?
I would welcome replies that disagree: some may prefer a firmer reading, some may want a more practical cue, some may worry that openness turns into drift. What keeps dependent origination alive in your own reading and sitting?
