I keep a little candle by the fruit bowl, not because it makes the day perfect, but because it gives us all a soft place to stop. The kids sometimes ask if the flame is 'real'. I say it is real in the same way a promise can be real: it points somewhere, even when you cannot point with your finger.
For me, rebirth is a live question. Some nights it feels like a way of describing how each moment shapes the next. Other nights, the suttas feel more literal, and I do not want to flatten that. The Buddha said there is suffering, its cause, its ending, and a path; I am comfortable with that plain map. I am less comfortable with turning a hard question into a test.
If you lean one way, I would like to hear how you keep the question gentle in ordinary days. Does a view help you sit, or does it start grading the sit? What helps you stay open without turning practice into a scoreboard?
