Thank you for this forum. I have sat with the breath for many years, and I keep noticing a small question: when we use the breath to know the mind, does it also carry the precepts? Not as a list, but as a quiet tone.
In the Thai Forest way, the teacher would say the body, feeling, and mind are watched with care. I have wondered whether sati can hold the same gentle firmness as a friend at the gate. If we breathe more evenly, does the intention to harm become less tempting? If we become more awake to the body, does giving and taking feel more honest?
I would like to hear how others experience it. Does breath practice keep ethics soft, or does it only sharpen attention? Does it make the heart smaller, or wider? Please share simple examples from your sitting, walking, or daily life. No need for theory. A line of observation is enough.
