Hi all. Between lectures I keep catching myself trying to “bank” a pause: sit, breathe, note the body, then check whether it counted. Sometimes it feels like a tiny receipt for effort, and the next pause gets fussy.
I’m wondering if a pause can be more like meeting a friend: no scorecard, just a turn of attention. Maybe the cue is plain—put the bag down, breathe, let the next task arrive. The question is whether that can stay warm without becoming a rule I’m trying to pass.
I’d love to hear from people who think small pauses are enough, people who want a steadier daily shape, and anyone who sees this as mostly a metaphor for becoming more present. How do you keep a pause from turning into a performance?
(And yes, I once timed a “quick” sit and ended up in a funny self-quiz. The bell did not judge me.)
