In the early suttas, dependent origination is often presented not as a doctrine to be memorised, but as a way of seeing how craving, clinging, and becoming keep feeding suffering. The Buddha appears to invite close looking, not a quick stamp of approval.
I wonder whether a simple question can do that work: “What is arising here, and what is being fed?” It may keep the teaching from becoming a checklist, while still giving a practice a direction.
Some readers will find this too technical; others may prefer a warmer, more devotional approach. Both can be useful. I am curious how people keep the suttas alive in daily life without turning them into slogans, tests, or a kind of score.
A short answer would be welcome, especially from those who see dependent origination as practical, doctrinal, or still too difficult to use.
